Built from published evidence: the Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 is Jabra's finest Elite product — stronger ANC, the clearest Jabra sound yet, and a smart case no rival matches. Calls aren't the upgrade Jabra claims and six-hour battery trails the best. A strong pick for travelers, with the farewell-line caveat. Check the current price on Amazon.

— THE VERDICT · JUDGEANY EDITORS

What they are

Jabra launched the Elite 10 Gen 2 in June 2024 — a new flagship barely six months after the first Elite 10, and, as it turned out, the last of the line: the announcement coincided with Jabra's decision to wind down its Elite consumer business (per Trusted Reviews). The buds keep the Gen 1 formula — 10mm drivers, semi-open ComfortFit design, Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint, IP57, six microphones — and add the world's first LE Audio smart case (per Jabra): plug it into a 3.5mm or USB-C source like a plane seatback screen or treadmill display with the included cable, and it retransmits the audio to the buds over LE Audio. Jabra claims Advanced ANC up to 2x stronger than the previous Elite 10, measured across an expert panel, and Dolby Atmos now comes with head tracking.

ANC: the claimed 2x, measured near Bose

Trusted Reviews put that claim to a pink-noise test and found the Gen 2 clearly better than the Gen 1 and about level with the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds — though it still didn't fully clear noise on the London Underground. InsideHook, testing both new Gen 2 models, was less measured: with the buds in, it blocked out "all cars, conversation and the guy literally yelling next to me in the subway." The cooler voice is TechGearLab, which calls the noise cancellation merely satisfactory for work and travel rather than top-tier. The fair reading: a real step up from Gen 1 and competitive with the class leaders, but not the deepest silence you can buy.

Sound

Trusted Reviews calls the Gen 2 the best-sounding Jabra true wireless it has tested: clearer and more detailed than the warmer Gen 1, with more balanced tuning, cleaner bass, and sharper treble. TechGearLab's frequency-response mapping broadly agrees — the buds track its house curve with only modest deviations, and the mid-treble peak that can sound harsh is lower than on the Gen 1. On spatial audio, Trusted Reviews says the Gen 2's Dolby Atmos with head tracking is "the most convincing yet" of any true wireless it has tried. The counterpoints: it doesn't out-resolve the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 4 — "the Sennheisers carve out a little more detail" — and Galaxus found the Dolby Atmos badge on in-ears to be mostly marketing, head tracking aside. Codec support stays basic at SBC and AAC, with no aptX or LDAC.

Calls, battery, and the fine print

Jabra markets improved 6-mic call technology with noise-reduction algorithms, but Trusted Reviews rated call quality "just average" and "not improved" over the Gen 1 — voice pickup came through a little mumbled whether the room was quiet or loud. Owner sentiment runs kinder: Best Buy's listing shows 4.2/5 across 206 reviews, with sound quality, comfort, and battery life as the top mentions. Battery matched Jabra's claims in every independent check: six hours per charge with ANC on (Trusted Reviews' drain test hit about 85% after an hour of Spotify at half volume), eight with it off, 27 and 36 hours total with the case. The remaining fine print: a slightly loose fit that Trusted Reviews flagged (TechGearLab says they can crowd smaller ears), a few Bluetooth stutters in busy stations, no aptX, and the farewell caveat — with Jabra leaving the consumer earbud business, Jabra says current products stay supported as usual, but further firmware ambitions are on thinner ice.

Who should buy it

Buy these if you want the smartest case in true wireless — nothing else streams a plane seatback to your buds over LE Audio — plus ANC that now hangs with Bose's best and the clearest sound Jabra has ever tuned into buds. The honest tax: calls that reviewers couldn't distinguish from the Gen 1, six hours of battery that trails Sony's eight, and a brand that has already said its goodbyes to the Elite line. Owners skew kinder than the press — 4.2/5 across 206 Best Buy reviews, with sound and comfort as the top mentions. Check the current price on Amazon before you decide.

+ WHAT EARNS IT

  • The LE Audio smart case is genuinely first-of-its-kind — plug it into a plane seatback, treadmill, or TV and stream to the buds (Jabra); How-To Geek found it worked seamlessly
  • ANC takes a real step over Gen 1 — Trusted Reviews' pink-noise test lands it about level with the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds
  • The best-sounding Jabra true wireless yet, per Trusted Reviews; TechGearLab's frequency-response mapping tracks its house curve closely; Dolby Atmos head tracking is the most convincing in its class (TR)
  • TechGearLab rates comfort 9.5/10 — semi-open ComfortFit design, IP57 buds, Bluetooth 5.3 multipoint, and wireless charging in the box

− WHAT COSTS IT

  • Call quality is not the upgrade Jabra claims — Trusted Reviews rated it "just average" and "not improved" over the Gen 1, with slightly mumbled pickup
  • SBC and AAC only — no aptX or LDAC (Trusted Reviews)
  • Six hours per charge trails the Sony WF-1000XM5's eight (Trusted Reviews)
  • Fit can run slightly loose; TechGearLab says they can feel crowded in smaller ears
  • The farewell question: Jabra is winding down the Elite consumer line, so future firmware support is less certain

Questions, answered

How good is the noise cancelling?
About that good. Trusted Reviews' pink-noise test put the Gen 2 about level with the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds and clearly ahead of the previous Elite 10 — though it still didn't fully clear noise on the London Underground. Jabra claims up to 2x the ANC of Gen 1, measured across an expert panel per its press release.
How does the LE Audio smart case work?
Plug the case into a 3.5mm or USB-C audio source — a plane seatback screen, treadmill display, or laptop — with the included cable, press the button, and the case retransmits the audio to your buds over LE Audio. How-To Geek tested it on a MacBook Air and called the pairing near-instant.
Is Jabra leaving the earbud business?
The Elite line is. Jabra announced it is winding down its consumer headphone operations, and Trusted Reviews calls the Elite 10 Gen 2 "Jabra's last pair of Elite wireless earbuds." Jabra says current products remain available and supported as usual — but expect fewer firmware ambitions going forward.
How long does the battery last?
Jabra claims six hours per charge with ANC on (eight with it off), for 27 hours total with the case. Trusted Reviews' drain test lands right on that: about 85% after an hour of Spotify at half volume. A five-minute charge buys about an hour of playback, and a full charge takes up to three hours.
Do they support aptX or LDAC?
No — SBC and AAC only, per Trusted Reviews. The buds carry LE Audio capability for the smart case's retransmit feature, but there is no aptX or LDAC for high-resolution wireless listening.
