Our position: evidence compilation, not another review site
JudgeAny does not pretend to be a testing lab. Our job is evidence compilation plus a decision verdict: we gather every verifiable claim about a product, map each conclusion to its source, note the test conditions behind third-party measurements, surface conflicting evidence — and then give you a straight answer on whether to buy.
What we actually do
Every JudgeAny review is built from three kinds of evidence, and nothing else:
- Verifiable specifications — dimensions, battery claims, codec support, warranty terms, taken from the manufacturer and cross-checked against retailer listings.
- Buyer review aggregation — we read large numbers of verified-purchase reviews and report the patterns: what owners praise repeatedly, and what they complain about repeatedly. We never invent individual buyer stories.
- Named expert sources — reputable publications and reviewers, cited by name with a direct link, when they add something we cannot verify ourselves.
Evidence mapping: every conclusion shows its work
Each substantive conclusion in a review maps to:
- Source — a direct, clickable link to the manufacturer spec page, expert review, or dataset behind the claim. A publication name without a link is a bug: report it.
- Test conditions — when we cite a third-party measurement (battery drain tests, ANC attenuation, SSD throughput), we name who measured it and under what conditions. Numbers without conditions don’t travel.
- Conflicting evidence — when sources disagree — a glowing expert review versus widespread owner complaints, say — we say so explicitly instead of picking the convenient one.
What we don’t do
We don’t run a test lab and we don’t measure products ourselves. Our scores are editorial judgments: a 9.1 means “the evidence strongly favors this,” not “our instruments read 9.1.” Nothing on this site should be read as a lab result or a hands-on test report. We don’t accept payment for coverage, for placement, or for scores.
How scores work
Each review scores the dimensions that matter for that product — sound and noise cancelling for earbuds, port rules and thermals for chargers, sensor latency for mice — from 0 to 10. The JudgeAny Score is an editorial judgment informed by those dimension scores: the dimension that matters most for the product carries the most influence, but there is no fixed formula and no fixed percentages. A score of 8.0 means you can buy it with confidence; 7.0 is fine with caveats; below 6.0, spend your money elsewhere.
Scores reflect the balance of specifications and owner sentiment at the time of writing — the Updated date on every page tells you how fresh that balance is.
How we pick products
We cover products with enough buyer reviews to aggregate meaningfully — usually thousands of ratings — and clear search demand. See our editorial policy for selection rules and how we keep advertisers and sponsors out of scoring.
